Who is Jesus?

Why did He come?

What did He do?

Everyone needs answers to these questions.
Please, consider the following answers.

Jesus came to earth many years ago. Jesus had no home. People rejected Him and members of His family thought He was crazy. Jesus walked from town to town, spending most of His time with people on the streets. He was criticized for associating with the poor and the forgotten people. Often, He was in trouble with the authorities. He was occasionally run out of town.

Jesus knew what it was like to be hungry, thirsty and tired.

As He said:

“Foxes have holes. Birds of the air have nests. But the Son of man has no place to lay His head.”
Luke 9:58

Jesus was not always without a home.

Once, He lived in heaven with God the Father and had everything, but He gave it up to live on earth and
help those who would follow Him:

Even though He was rich, He became poor, so you can become rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9

Jesus chose to live this way because He wanted us to know Him and love Him and know that we can have a place in God’s kingdom. He knew that we had problems that we could not solve and had to have His help. We say bad things, we do bad things. It is the way that we are born.

All of us have sinned. No one measures up to Gods glory.
Romans 3:23

We could not forgive people who hurt us and we had no hope. Jesus came to tell us God’s answer for our problems, a new way to live.

Jesus said, “I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10

When Jesus began His ministry on earth, He announced what He was going to do:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has anointed me to tell the good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce freedom for the prisoners. He has sent me so that the blind will see again. He wants me to free those who are beaten down. And He has sent me to announce the year when He will set his people free.”
Luke 4:18,19

Jesus helped so many people. He made blind men see and made lame men walk. He fed thousands of hungry people and did many other miracles. Jesus cared for people and showed them compassion. Jesus came to change lives. He told hurting people what kind of change that they could expect:

Jesus said, “Blessed are you who are needy, for God’s kingdom belongs to you. Blessed are you who are hungry now. You will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are sad now. You will be happy.”
Luke 6: 20-21

He made statements and claims about Himself that angered religious people. Others were afraid of Him and the power of His words.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, God, except through me.”
John 14: 6

AS Jesus spoke to people about God’s kingdom, His life became harder. Powerful people falsely accused Him of terrible crimes and wanted to kill Him. He was betrayed by His friend and arrested on a false charge. After being mocked, beaten and spat upon, He was nailed to a cross, even though He had done nothing wrong.

He experienced horrible pain. Why did He do it?

Christ died for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.
Peter 3:18

Jesus cares about you and me and wants us to have hope. He knows that life is hard and that we need Him as our friend so that we can have peace and joy.

Jesus said, “I have called you friends. I have told you everything I learned from my Father. You did not choose me. I chose you.”
John 15:15-16

Jesus explained the ultimate cost a friend would pay for those He loved.

He said, “No one has greater love than the one who gives his life for his friends.”
John 15:13

And that is just what Jesus did for you and for me!

“At just the right time Christ died for ungodly people. He died for us when we had no power of our own. It is unusual for anyone to die for a godly person. Maybe someone would be willing to die for a good person. But here is how God has shown His love for us. While we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:6-8

COME TO JESUS.
FIND YOUR HOPE IN HIM.

Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He came to help you, and even laid down His life for you. Jesus did what no one else has ever done.
He rose from death to life, so He can give you a new life.

What do you need to do?

TALK TO GOD AND ASK HIM TO HELP YOU.
ADMIT THAT YOU ARE A SINNER
ASK GOD TO FORGIVE YOU.
BOW TO JESUS AS YOUR KING.
RECEIVE JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR.
THANK GOD FOR HIS LOVE FOR YOU.
THANK GOD FOR SENDING JESUS.

Once you have talked to God, prayed, expect God to change you. When you become a follower of Jesus, He will give you a new beginning. You are now forgiven and you can forgive others because you have forgiveness in your heart.

When we get this new beginning from God, we also get an amazing promise from Jesus. He promises to live with us.

Our home is with Jesus.

Jesus said, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love him. We will come to him and make our home with him.”
John 14:23

More, God promised us that He will never leave us.

God says, “I will never leave you. I will never desert you.”
Hebrews 13:5
